Temovate Scalp Solution treats certain scalp conditions and reduces the swelling, itching and redness that can occur in these conditions. This medication is a very strong (super-high-potency) corticosteroid.

Temovate scalp solution is usually applied once a day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Use Temovate topical exactly as directed. 

• Apply a small amount of the medicine on the affected area, and rub it gently.
• Protect the area from washing and rubbing until the solution dries.
• Refrain from covering your head with a shower cap, bathing cap, or towel.
• It would be best if you washed your hands after applying Temovate topical. You may wash your hair after applying and rinsing off the medicine.

Before using Temovate scalp solution, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: 

• poor blood circulation,
• diabetes, 
• other skin/scalp conditions,
• immune system problems, and
• You are allergic to it or any other steroids or allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. 

Do not use it if there is an infection or sore in the area to be treated.

During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor before breastfeeding.

Where do you use Temovate scalp solution?

Temovate scalp solution is only for use on the skin. Avoid use in the genital and rectal areas, skin creases, and armpits unless directed by your doctor. Do not let Temovate topical get into your eyes or mouth, and do not swallow it.

How long does it take for Temovate Scalp Solution to work?

Your skin condition should improve during the first two weeks of your treatment. Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve during this time.

What side effects can Temovate scalp solution cause?
