What is Imitrex?

Imitrex is a headache medication which contains sumatriptan used to treat migraine headaches. Sumatriptan affects the natural substance serotonin in your brain which can cause the blood vessels in your brain to narrow. • Imitrex is not approved to be used by anyone younger than 18.
• Imitrex will only treat a headache which has already began and will not prevent future headaches.

• Bloody diarrhea.
• Signs of serotonin syndrome such as fast heartbeat, hallucinations, loss of coordination, severe dizziness, severe nausea, severe vomiting, severe diarrhea, twitching muscles, unexplained fever, unusual agitation or restlessness.
• Signs of an allergic reaction such as hives, difficulty breathing or a swelling of your face, lips or throat.
