Emadine Eye Drops to relieve redness, itching, and swelling of the eyes from allergies. This medication is an antihistamine. It blocks certain natural substances that cause allergic symptoms. Do not use Emadine Eye Drops to treat redness and irritation from wearing contact lenses.

Follow all directions on your prescription label; do not use Emadine Eye Drops in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. To apply Emadine Eye Drops: 

• First, wash your hands. Tilt the head back and, pressing your finger gently on the skin just beneath the lower eyelid, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to make a space. Drop the medicine into this space. Let go of the eyelid and gently close the eyes. Keep the eyes closed for 1 to 2 minutes to allow the medicine to be absorbed by the eye. Do not blink.
• To keep the medicine germ-free, do not touch the applicator tip on any surface (including the eye). Also, keep the container tightly closed.

Before taking Emadine Eye Drops to make sure Emadine is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have the following:

• You should not use Emadine if you are allergic to it.
• An infection in your eye.
• Emadine is not expected to harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment or if you are breastfeeding a baby.
• Emadine is not approved for use by children younger than three years of age.

Emadine Eye Drops may cause common side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

• burning or itchy eyes
• swollen eyelids
• eye redness
• headache
• runny nose
• cough

Some side effects can be serious. If you experience either of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:

• sore throat
• fever, chills, and other signs of infection

Emadine Eye Drops may cause other side effects. Call your doctor if you have any unusual problems while using this medication.

How to store Emadine Eye Drops?

Keep Emadine Eye Drops out of the reach and sight of children. It will help to prevent eye infections—store in a cool, dry place, away from direct heat and light. 

What should you do if you miss a dose of Emadine Eye Drops?

Use the missed dose of Emadine Eye Drops as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.

What common side effects can Emadine Eye Drops cause?

Blurred vision, eye discomfort, itchy eyes and redness may occur.
