What is Canasa Suppository?

Canasa Suppository contains mesalamine and is used to treat ulcerative proctitis which is a type of bowel disease. Mesalamine is an anti-inflammatory medication which works by blocking the production of natural chemicals which cause pain or swelling. Canasa suppository does not cure this ulcerative proctitis but may decrease the number of stools, the amount of mucus or blood in the stools and rectal bleeding.
