What is Alphagan P?

Alphagan P are eye drops that are used to treat high fluid pressure in the eye and glaucoma. Alphagan P contains brimonidine which reduces the risk or vision loss and nerve damage by lowering the pressure in your eye. Alphagan P allows for better fluid drainage from the eye and reduces the amount of fluid which is formed in the eye which lowers pressure.

• Wash your hands before applying this medication. If you wear contact lenses, remove them and do not replace them for at least ten minutes.
• Slightly tip back your head and use your finger to pull down your lower eyelid, creating a small pocket. Look upwards and away from the dropper, and squeeze a drop directly into the eye.
• Keep your eyes closed for between one and two minutes. Hold your finger to the inside corner of your eye to prevent the liquid from draining into your eye duct.
• If you need more than one drop, or if you use any other eye drops, wait at least five minutes between drops.
• Do not touch the tip of the eye dropper to prevent contamination and possible infections.
• Do not use Alphagan P Eye Drops if the liquid has changed color, has particles in it or if it looks cloudy.
• Tell your doctor if your eyes have become swollen, painful or have discharge.
