Common side effects of Aldactone include but are not limited to:

• Breast swelling.
• Breast tenderness.

Get medical help if you have any of the following side effects of spironolactone:

• Little or no urination.
• Feeling lightheaded or like you might pass out.
• Signs of an electrolyte imbalance including slurred speech, loss of coordination, feeling unsteady, confusion, increased thirst or urination, vomiting, muscle pain, severe weakness, or numbness.
• Signs of a high potassium level including chest pain, irregular heartbeats, loss of movement, nausea, weakness, or a tingly feeling.
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling in your face, lips, or throat.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Aldactone?

If you miss a dose of Aldactone, you should take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip your missed dose.

Aldactone and the generic alternative spironolactone are both available in strengths of 25mg, 50mg, and 100mg.
